Master of Regional Planning Candidate, Teaching Assistant
Jake is currently a Master of Regional Planning Student, but he also completed his undergraduate career at UMass, studying Sustainable Community Development and Geographic Information Systems. Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, his main interests include transportation, land use, and spatial analysis. His research focuses on pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure specifically, and how streets can be recreated to accommodate those modes. In the summer of 2021, he worked for the United States Department of Transportation on bike/ped and public transit projects, and he expects to continue that work post-graduation, with the goal of being a key part of climate mitigation and adaptation solutions. He loves to travel, most notably to take road trips with the goal of exploring new places. He is a total dog person, and his happy place is the beach when the sun is setting.
