As a student (or faculty/staff) at UMass, you have access to a variety of software. Some of that is as part of a site license (typically on campus computers), as free student licenses (that you can install on your own computers), or as reduced-cost licenses. See the following list for details.

UMass Site Licenses / Computer Classrooms / Virtual Desktop

UMass Computer Classrooms have a lot of software installed on every machine. You can find the list of programs here. In addition, students and faculty have access to a large list of free or discounted software, including operating systems.

You can also access a virtual version of the lab computers at the Azure (Windows) Virtual Desktop (AVD) site; not all software is available on those computers, however. You also need to request access.

Contact UMass IT ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
