The Center for Resilient Metro-Regions
The Center for Resilient Metro-Regions provides community planning and design services and applied research, drawing on expertise from the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning and engaging students. While CRM works in sustainability, resilience, land use, climate change, green infrastructure, open space, housing, community economic development, and master plans, strategic planning is its primary focus. CRM works at a range of scales, from rural communities to complex metropolitan regions. Projects with communities are often organized as a class studio project, providing service-learning opportunities for students and benefits for the communities who fund the studios. Other ways we work with communities is through consulting contracts or student internships through CRM.

Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning
The Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning is held every three years to bring together experts who are influencing landscape planning, policy making and greenway planning from the local to international level. It is intended to highlight recent trends and expand the literature about landscape and greenway planning. The aim is to explore how landscape architects and planners from different countries have approached greenway planning and to understand how greenways have been tailored to each county’s unique geographical, cultural, and political circumstances. The conference provides an opportunity to publish full papers in printed proceedings.
