UMass students, Danta Filadoro (LC '25), Connor Cuggino (LC '26), and Isaiah Kafero (BSLA '26), completed summer internships at Andover Landscape, an award-winning design build firm in Andover, MA. Russell Stott, who graduated from the UMass Amherst BSLA program in 2008, is a partner at the firm and always enjoys the opportunity to train the next generation of landscape architecture professionals.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of owning Andover Landscape Design & Construction is the opportunity to welcome interns from my alma mater, UMass Amherst - specifically from the Stockbridge School’s Landscape Contracting program and the Landscape Architecture department.

Over the past six years, we've had the privilege of hosting eight talented interns from UMass, some of whom have become full-time members of our team. It's incredibly meaningful to give back to the same institution that helped shape my own path. We’re proud to invest in the next generation of green industry professionals. This summer, we were fortunate to work alongside Dante, Isaiah, and Connor - a dedicated and skilled group whose contributions did not go unnoticed. Andover Landscape Design & Construction remains committed to supporting both the Stockbridge School and the Landscape Architecture program at UMass Amherst," said Stott.

Isaiah Kafero

Isaiah Kafero, a BSLA junior, reflected upon his summer experience immersing in the field of residential design and construction.

"From on the job experience, Andover Landscape makes it its mission to create sustainable and aesthetically pleasing designs that cater to the desires of its clients. From my stay at this firm I acquired much knowledge in regards to plants, including placements, proper care, identification, and choosing the best options pertaining to site conditions. I would like to thank Russell Stot for the opportunity to take part in this enlightening opportunity," said Kafero.
