The BSLA Fieldbook: CLIMATE spotlighted Julia Slater and Michael Amato's (MLA '24) masterplan for the 2023 Envision Resilience Challenge. Their design embraces a regenerative methodology and multi-scalar approach to re-envision areas of New Bedford's shoreline as "climate-smart" working waterfronts. Since graduating from the MLA program, Slater has served as a studio instructor at LARP; Amato is pursing a PhD in Regional Planning at UMass Amherst and currently serves on the Frank A. Waugh Arboretum Committee.
