Hongbing Tang completed a month-long, grant-funded trip to China to conduct fieldwork for her doctoral dissertation. Hongbing's project focuses on China’s “Sponge City” planning and practice. Tang traveled to "Sponge City" project sties in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, where she met with many practitioners and researchers who are involved in efforts to reduce urban flooding.
"I was also fortunate to receive 15 books and publications as gifts, which resulted in an extra suitcase on my return!," Hongbing shared.
