Professor Camille Barchers' 2024 MRP studio, "RP 675: Impact 2050," won the Massachusetts chapter of the American Planning Association (APA MA) 2025 student project award for their project, "Comprehensive Climate Action Plan – Municipal Emissions Reduction Playbook."
Students drafted the "Authority to Implement" section of the New Haven County Comprehensive Climate Action Plan and wrote Municipal Emissions Reduction Playbooks (MERPS) for each of the communities in New Haven County, CT. This work was made possible by an EPA CPRG grant, the studio's partner in Connecticut, the South Central Regional Council of Governments, the Center for Resilient Metro-Regions (CRM) at UMass, and by the previous cohort (2023 MRP Studio) who drafted the Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP).
The award was formally presented at the APA-MA Annual Awards & Holiday Luncheon on Friday, December 5th at Union Station in Northampton, MA.
