Each year, a new cohort of UMass Master of Regional Planning (MRP) students participates in the Regional Planning Studio class, where they work together to carry out a planning project. This year, the 2024 MRP Studio cohort is building upon the work of the previous year's studio on a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant for the EPA (to be completed by December, 2024). The class's main milestone is to produce core elements of the Comprehensive Climate Action Plan, or CCAP, which will help towns across New Haven County, CT plan their course of action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2040. Their work for the EPA will be expanded upon to create an even more comprehensive guide at the individual town level by March 2025.
