MLA graduate Michael Chancellor finished the year off strong with an outstanding win during the 24th Annual Affordable Housing Development Competition presented by Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.

Michael and a team of UMass peers, in collaboration with students from Clark University and Wentworth Institute of Technology, received a first-place prize for their design proposal "High Street Homes.”

Their project aims to transform 10 underutilized parcels of land in Holyoke, MA into a mixed-use development of residential homes and communal green space.

Michael Chancellor graduated this year with a dual master's degree in Landscape Architecture and Architecture. Other members of the UMass team include Master of Architecture students Jason Soares de Carvalho and Zahra Shah Mohammady, as well as Isenberg School of Management undergraduates Henry Schwarz and Samuel Hinrichs.
