Lauren Stimson, MLA/MRP '06, won a 2023-2024 Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome for her project, "Seeing Rural: Embracing Art, Craft, and Slowness in the Italian Landscape."
Lauren, a Landscape Architect and Partner at Stephen Stimson Associates in Cambridge and Princeton, MA, is currently in Rome, painting the Italian landscape. Recently, she showed her studio to the United Nations Ambassador.
Rome Prizes are highly competitive fellowships that support advanced independent work and research in the arts and humanities. Winning artists and scholars receive a stipend, workspace, and room and board at the Academy’s eleven-acre campus on the Janiculum Hill in Rome. Recipients in eleven disciplines including landscape architecture are selected through a rigorous independent jury process.
