Since earning a master's in regional planning from UMass Amherst in 2024, Dan Deutsch has been pursuing research on economic development and cultural planning processes. Currently, Deutsch works as an Associate at Public Sphere Projects, a national place management and placemaking consultancy. He is also a Graduate Research Fellow at the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), where he writes reports about innovative projects led by small-metro and rural regional planning agencies. Through his fellowship, Deutsch was asked to develop a "tips and considerations" sheet for NADO's interest in integrating arts and culture into their economic development initiatives.
