Zube Lecture Series
Design Building Lecture Hall (room 170)

Join us for a Zube Lecture Series panel discussion featuring graduates of the regional planning master's program at UMass Amherst. This event will be held on Thursday, April 23rd, at 4:00 p.m. in the Design Building Lecture Hall (room 170). Admission is free and open to the public. A reception will be held in the atrium after the talk. Appetizers and drinks will be served.

Tamsin Flanders, MRP '20, is a Senior Land Use & Natural Resources Planner at the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) in Greenfield, where she works on projects covering community climate resilience, municipal energy transition, watershed-based planning, comprehensive planning, and open space, outdoor recreation, and agricultural planning. Tamsin holds a Master of Science in Ecological Landscape Design and Planning from the Conway School of Landscape Design and a Master of Regional Planning from UMass Amherst, where her thesis examined the enforcement of flood hazard zoning in Vermont towns.

 

Jessica Allan, MLA/MRP '04, has public and private sector experience in land development, real estate, and affordable housing. She has served as both a regional and city planner, a permit administrator for a private engineering firm, and as a consultant and developer of affordable housing. She holds an MLA and MRP from UMass-Amherst.

 

Lydia Jankowski, MRP '24, is a Community & Recreation Planner with SE Group, a Vermont-based planning and design firm that helps communities and organizations thoughtfully integrate outdoor recreation into their planning and development. Her work focuses on the outdoor recreation economy and the ways activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, skiing, and rock climbing contribute to community vitality. Lydia specializes in exploring the connections between outdoor recreation, quality of life, tourism, economic development, and stewardship of natural resources, helping communities leverage their outdoor assets to support sustainable growth and meaningful recreation experiences.
