Founder's Day Design Building Showcase

The Department is pleased to invite our UMass community, LARP alumni, area professionals, and friends to our first-ever Design Building Showcase during Founder's Day at UMass Amherst.

Stop by the Design Building Atrium next Wednesday, 4/29, from 12-1 PM to celebrate the incredible things happening across the Department. Meet LARP student groups, see displays of landscape architecture and regional planning studio projects, and experience Professor Carolina Aragón's award-winning climate art installation, High Tide. Alongside our displays, you can find activities hosted by the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences, the Building and Construction Technology Program, and the Department of Architecture.

This showcase is free and open to the public!
 

High Tide is an art installation inspired by Boston’s original marsh landscape to visualize projected flooding due to sea level rise. This year, the Beloved Places BSLA senior studio, taught by Carolina Aragón, Robert Ryan, and Julia Slater, are teaming up with Boston's youth to inspire new conversations about flood risks.
