Design Building Lecture Hall (room 170)

Join us for a Zube Lecture presented by Jennifer Verprauskus and Jenn Nawada on Thursday, April 9th, at 4:00 p.m. in the Design Building Lecture Hall (room 170). Admission is free and open to the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

A recording of this discussion will be posted to UMass LARP's YouTube channel following the event.

About the Talk

Jennifer Verprauskus and Jenn Nawada will talk about how Climate Resilient Landscape Design can help properties as hurricanes and extreme weather events intensify. Aimed at designers, this lecture bridges residential-scale solutions with climate-resilient master planning, emphasizing stormwater, slopes, planting, and real-world construction. Students are empowered to see design not as drawings alone, but as a hands-on process—where design/build thinking turns landscapes into living infrastructure that performs under pressure.

About the Speakers

Jennifer Verprauskus is a Landscape Architect and Owner of BareRoot Designs; Jenn Nawada is a landscape contractor, designer, and host known for her prominent role on public television's This Old House and Ask This Old House.
