Prajakta Ghorpade

Prajakta Ghorpade is currently pursuing a Master's in Regional Planning program. Prajakta has an academic background in architecture with a Bachelor's in India. Prajakta has a strong interest in maps and a love of sports. Prajakta has  taken courses like Quantitative Methods, Planning History and Theory, Public Participation, and Cultural Landscape. Additionally, Prajakta completed a 6-month internship in Urban Planning, which enriched my understanding of city development and design.

My academic journey reflects a versatile approach to architecture, encompassing a range of project types. My focus encompassed residential, commercial high-rise structures, institution building, affordable housing, understanding Urban planning, multi-modal systems and Cricket stadium and sports complex. I have developed a well-rounded skill set, blending creativity, technical expertise, and a commitment to addressing diverse societal needs through thoughtful and innovative design.

VOLUNTEER WORK

Volunteer at Robin Hood Army, an NGO working on a mission to serve underprivileged kids, family and disabled people. I completed 32 Volunteer drives since last 2 years. It’s beautiful to connect with humans through this work and having to experience it.

WORK EXPERIENCE

November 2022 – April 2023: Internship Trainee at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority – Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

Responsibilities - I contributed to Urban planning and Architecture initiatives at JNPA-SEZ, specializing in diverse site projects. Notable achievements include designing a Passenger Ferry Terminal, leading the adaptive reuse of an amenity building, and interesting projects on Facade design and landscaping. My experience in the Urban Planning Department shows my ability to blend creativity and practicality for impactful urban development.
Learnings – Practicality and process of various projects, learning to read Land use data, development plans and policies and mainly how research and data analysis are carried out and executed on ground was one the most important learning.
