Charlotte Collins (she/they) is a candidate for the Master in Regional Planning. She is currently a part-time student set for graduation in Spring of 2028. She serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for UMass’s Planning Student Organization. Her career path has taken her into the fields of group medical visits and non-profit healthcare, urban farming, marine science, the fine arts, and rock climbing. She earned a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies from Northeastern University and has completed a U.N. Millennium Fellowship. Within the planning field, Charlotte is interested in communicative planning, urban identity, food and environmental justice, and the role that storytelling and the arts can play in participatory planning. In their art practice, Charlotte has explored how DIY crafters build identities outside of the monetary constraints of consumer society, both as individuals and as part of the DIY community.
