Andrew Simons is a co-facilitator for the Community Building Group at UMass Amherst. As a Sustainable Community Development senior concentrating in City and Society, Andrew is interested in creating affordable, walkable, and people-oriented communities. They are passionate about the intersection of alternative transportation and affordable housing, focusing on how to increase transit access and walkability in communities that need it most. 

This past summer, Andrew completed an internship with the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, where he worked on a variety of projects spanning from ADA assessments on outdoor recreation facilities to work on housing production plans, open space and recreation plans, and master plans. 

In his free time, Andrew enjoys riding his bike, hanging out with friends, and spending time outside.
