Now more than ever, we need to develop the next generation of education labor activists.
MTA scholarships available
The MTA is making a limited number of scholarships available for educators enrolled in the Union Leadership and Activism for Educators program in the Labor Center at UMass Amherst.
The ULA for Educators track is part of the innovative, limited-residency master’s degree ULA program.
Designed especially for Education Support Professionals, teachers and other dedicated unionists who work in the field of preK-12 and higher education, this is the only program that centers growing union-power in the education sector. Our students complete coursework over 3 July residencies on-campus and 3 remote semesters of work. The MTA Public Relations/Organizing grant funding the scholarships is aimed at putting MTA members at the center of the issues and debates around education, labor, and economic, social and racial justice. Educators are at the forefront of the labor movement and are uniquely positioned to create change within the public education system.
Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to MTA members who have been admitted to the ULA program.
