Undergraduate Members
Undergraduate members play important roles in our research and community engagement. We typically review applications in the spring of each year and contact strong applicants for an interview. If you are interested in applying to join the PPAL team, please read through the commitment and criteria below and if you meet the qualifications, submit an application.
Becoming an Undergraduate PPAL Member typically involves the following components:
-Course registration for 3 credits of independent study (KIN 297S - after official acceptance into the lab)
-The average workload each week will be equivalent of 3 credit hours (9-10 hours) and will consist of data collection, weekly one-hour lab meetings (with one article presentation per semester), community engagement events, and other lab duties specific to the current study(ies)
Criteria for Undergraduate PPAL Members:
-Minimum GPA of 3.25
-Minimum committment of 2 semesters in the lab
-Strong interest in working with children (epxerience preferred)
-Ability to work two (3 hour) or three (2 hour) shifts/week
-Attendance at weekly lab meetings on Fridays, 10:10 am to 12:05 pm (on KIIN 297S scheduled)
-A car on campus in order to drive to intervention/research sites (some studies take place in Springfield, MA)
Fall 2019 Applicants - You will need availability on one morning AND one afternoon in the time slots below:
-Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday - 8:30 am - 11:00 am
-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday - 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm
