Pediatric Movement and Cognition (P-MAC) Study – is an NIH-funded study to examine the impact of a 6-month gross-motor skill (GMS)-based physical activity intervention on preschool-age children’s health. Aim 1 of the study is to examine the implementation processes and outcomes of a 6-month provider-taught GMS-based physical activity intervention in preschool children from low socioeconomic status childcare centers. Aim 2 of the study is to examine the preliminary efficacy of the intervention on cognitive (inhibitory control, attention, working memory, and episodic memory) and behavioral outcomes, as well as movement-related behaviors in preschoolers (gross motor skills and time spent in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity).
