What was the last thing you read/watched that broke conventions for you, and made you think, “I didn’t know we were allowed to do this in writing?"
I May Destroy You on HBO. Each episode leaves me more in awe of the genius that is Michaela Coel than the last.
What helps you return to a project after you’ve lost momentum or haven’t worked on it in a while?
I think everything I create has potential to be more than what I may initially realize. Every poem I write is potentially a page in a future book of mine. In order for that potential to be realized, I must return to every incompleted work. Remembering this is what helps me to return to work that I've placed on the back burner.
What are some of your 2021 writing goals?
I hope to near the completion of a chapbook manuscript by the end of 2021.
