Q: What are your personal writing goals at the moment?

I'm working towards a longer project so "exercising" through morning and night-time pages these days!

Q: What can your potential students expect to gain from your lab if they enroll this winter?

Potential students can expect to read and think with each other's voices, be able to name how different parts of writing craft a certain emotional impact or texture, and to write a lot!

Q: What's inspiring you right now?

I've been reading a lot of biographies recently, which has been wonderful. A favourite was Muriel Spark's biography of Emily Bronte (both formative writers for me); also Hermione Lee on Edith Wharton, and Susan Bernofsky's wondrous biography of Walser called "The Clairvoyant of the Small".
