The UMass Journalism Department recently inducted nine journalism students into the Kappa Tau Alpha Honors Society. KTA is a college honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication. Induction into the chapter is one of the highest academic achievements a journalism student can earn. The UMass chapter of KTA inducts the top 10 percent of the graduating class each year, and its chapter advisor is Senior Lecturer Brian McDermott.
