Jonathan Kermah, class of 2020, is a production assistant at The Ringer, a sports and pop culture publication and podcast network under Spotify.

Jon produces podcasts and does engineering and editing for a number of shows, including: "Larry Wilmore: Black on the Air," in which Wilmore interviews figures from politics, entertainment and journalism; "'The Wire': Way Down in the Hole," in which journalist Jemele Hill and Ringer personality Van Lathan analyze every episode of the HBO series; The "NFL Show," a conversation between NFL analyst Warren Sharp and radio personality Chris Vernon, and "Winging It with Vince Carter," in which the NBA legend and Atlanta Hawks reporter Annie Finberg talk with sports and entertainment figures.

"When I fist began the UMass Journalism program, I thought the only route in the journalism field was being a writer/reporter for a newspaper or website. But four years later, I'm happy to say I was flat out wrong. With technology, what we call journalism and media is forever changing and that's a great thing. Follow what you love and never leave your curiosity behind whether you work behind the camera, fact check or produce podcasts."
