Biography
Sarah Rose is a public relations and communication professional and educator who values learning, teaching, inclusivity, and practical application.
At UMass, Stack will teach courses in the Public Relations Concentration while also supporting the needs and initiatives of the Journalism department.
Stack's expertise spans regional, national, and international relations. She held an executive-level position for an internet retailer, where she managed the content strategy for products and services across multiple countries in Asia, Europe, and North America. During this appointment, she gained extensive experience in public and media relations, fostering connections with various publics and major media outlets including Bloomberg, Finance Geek, Vogue, Elle Magazine, CBS, CNN, Fox, and others. Additionally, she developed and taught integrated marketing communication and social media curricula for the marketing teams, where she initially discovered her passion for teaching.
She then moved on to become the Director of Marketing and Recruitment at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C., where she crafted and executed a comprehensive communication strategy. In this role, she took pride in her ability to translate complex and technical subjects related to finance, taxation, business, and auditing into clear, accessible information for diverse audiences.
Her professional experience also includes co-founding a digital marketing company, The Stack Group, Inc., that serves hundreds of clients across various industries. Throughout her journey, she developed an understanding of the factors influencing businesses and nonprofits of all sizes.
When not teaching at UMass, she is active in the arts. She danced professionally with the Boston Cannons and at the Multicultural Arts Center and is a seasoned choreographer and dance teacher.
Sarah Rose earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Master of Communication from Johns Hopkins University. At Johns Hopkins, she focused on Digital Communication and Corporate and Nonprofit Communication, earning dual concentrations in these areas of expertise.
