Biography
Jennie Donohue is an award-winning public relations and integrated marketing communication educator and professional with a passion for experiential learning, as well as expertise in curriculum development and online teaching. She brings decades of corporate, agency, and public/non-profit work experience into the classroom, helping students bridge the academic-industry divide.
At UMass, Donohue designed and serves as Director of the Public Relations Concentration. She also founded and serves as faculty adviser to the UMass Amherst Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), formerly the UMass PR Student Club. She was an Instructional Innovation Fellow and participant in the university’s multimodal learning pilot initiative. Prior to that, she taught at various colleges in New York.
Donohue also held positions with industry-leading organizations, such as Fidelity Investments and The Kellogg Company, along with agencies including Golin/Harris and Manning, Selvage & Lee. Her professional experience spans multiple industries and disciplines ranging from strategic planning and budget oversight to issues management, brand marketing communications, media relations, community relations, employee communication, and writing. Her work contributions have been recognized with a Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Award and an American Marketing Association Gold Edison Best New Product Award.
Donohue received her M.B.A. from Suffolk University and her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University with majors in Public Relations and International Relations. She passed the Series 7 and Series 24 financial licensing exams and is a meditation teacher.
