JOURNAL OF THE HISTORY OF

Childhood AND Youth

The Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth (JHCY) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal focused on the history of childhood and youth cultures and the experiences of young people across diverse times and places.  We seek original articles based on empirical research as well as essays that place contemporary issues of children and youth in a historical context.  The editors encourage submissions from those working across the range of historical methodologies, and from scholars in other disciplines with historical interests in children and youth. JHCY is published on behalf of the Society for the History of Children and Youth by the Johns Hopkins University Press. Subscriptions are available as part of the membership dues for SHCY or are available through the press.

Welcome

All submissions are now handled electronically through ScholarOne. Please consult our author guidelines before subnmmitting your work. You can visit JHCY's main website by clicking here.
