"I entered college mainly interested in human relationships and cross-cultural communication. I became a communication and sociology double major and started taking classes related to these interests. The more time I spent here at UMass, the more I realized how intertwined technology is to society - at this point, our digital reality is just as complex and important as our physical reality. Completing this certificate helped me delve deeper into how society operates in the digital age and how impactful good (or bad) technological advancements can be. As someone who has always been a part of the humanities world, I really appreciated how completing this certificate gave me the confidence and skills to operate in the technological world."
