The UMass Amherst Information Technology Program will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special forum, How to Be a Professional in an AI and Digital World, on Thursday, February 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Old Chapel Great Room.

This milestone event will bring together alumni, faculty, and students for an engaging conversation about professionalism, career readiness, and navigating the rapidly evolving digital and AI-driven workplace. The forum will feature an alumni panel offering real-world career guidance, followed by a faculty discussion focused on what it means to be a professional in today’s technology-centered environment.
The event is free and open to students of all majors, reflecting the IT Program’s interdisciplinary approach and commitment to preparing graduates for a wide range of careers. Refreshments will be provided.
As the IT Program marks 25 years of educating students at the intersection of technology, business, and society, this forum offers an opportunity to reflect on the program’s impact while looking ahead to the skills and mindsets needed for the future of work.
