Student Technicians Wanted

Isenberg School of Management’s Technology Support & Service (TSS) Help Desk is looking to hire Student Technicians. TSS Student Technicians are a key part of a team that supports all Isenberg computer systems, software, and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle). Primary duties include but are not limited to tier 1 tech support for Isenberg faculty and staff, including classroom support and assistance with common productivity applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, etc.). We are willing to provide training for the right candidate. We are also on the lookout for more experienced tier 2 candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills at the tier 1 level.

Job requirements:

• Experience with Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work well with others.

• Ability to triage issues by phone and in-person, as well as be in a Zoom room to provide remote support to people of all levels of technical understanding.

Preference will be given to candidates who can meet these requirements:

• 4+ semesters remaining at UMass (including this semester).

• Experience with setup, troubleshooting and maintenance of PC and/or Mac computers.

• Available to work Winter Intersession 2021-2022 preferred.

Pay is commensurate with experience (minimum $15/hour). During the semester the position will be a maximum of 10-20 hours/week. During summer and winter intersessions the position has the possibility of working up to 35-40 hours/week.
