French and Italian Fund for Academic Excellence
Are you planning on studying abroad in Italy? The French and Italian Fund for Excellence, established by her husband in loving memory of Kerry Dunn MacKenzie, Class of 1988, provides study abroad scholarship support to a full-time undergraduate student who has completed a minimum of 24 residential credits. Eligible recipients must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5, have a declared primary or secondary major in French or Italian and have a language other than French or Italian as their native, primary language.
STUDENTS WHO WISH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY MUST COMPLETE THE HFA STUDY ABROAD APPLICATION FIRST.
ALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED THROUGH ACADEMIC WORKS.
The deadline for the spring semester is October 15, 2025. The deadline for fall 2026 is April 15, 2026.
Italian Language Foundation Fellowships
The Italian Language Foundation (ILF) offers different scholarship opportunities for students of Italian. These include:
- ILF College Fellowship: $1000 scholarships (per semester) to students enrolled in Italian courses at the university level. Renewable up to 3 years.
- Fred Kuwornu Fellowship: $1000 scholarships (per semester) to students of African-American heritage enrolled in Italian courses at the university level. Renewable up to 3 years.
- Enrico Fermi Fellowship: $1000 scholarships (per semester) to students enrolled in both Italian courses and science/math at the university level. Renewable up to 3 years.
