SPIRE Tutorial Videos Part 1: Intro to SPIRE
How to access important and frequently used SPIRE functions
SPIRE is the University’s student and employee information system. It allows students to register for classes, manage housing assignments, university finances, and more. SPIRE allows instructors to view class rosters, add textbook information, and submit grades. SPIRE also allows authorized staff to view and manage information, such as student records.

To access SPIRE, navigate to spire.umass.edu in your web browser.
Here are locations of some important SPIRE functions on the SPIRE login page:
To get password or NetID help: click either of the ‘password & NetID help’ links located under the ‘Go’ button in the “Log on to SPIRE box” or under the IT Accounts heading on the right side of the page.
On the left side of the page, notices and information will be displayed - for instance information about upcoming service outages.
In the center of the screen you will find the ‘Log on to SPIRE’ box.
This box contains fields for your NetID and Password.
The SPIRE login page also includes links to other UMass tools and services, (including email, moodle, blackboard, peoplefinder and the go.umass web app) at the top right of the page.
If you need help with SPIRE, please see the links (including the SPIRE contacts link) under the Get Help heading on the right side of the page.
