Deactivate Adobe Software [1]
UMass Amherst faculty, eligible staff, and GEO graduate students may install software available through the Adobe Campus Agreement [2] on one personally-owned computer. To transfer your Adobe license to a new computer, you must first deactivate it from its original location. Uninstalling the software does not deactivate it. If you do not first deactivate the software before uninstalling it, the product key will not work when you re-install the software.
To deactivate your Adobe suite (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite Design & Web Premium):
- Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
- Open one of the major programs in the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Dreamweaver, Illustrator, or Photoshop).
- Go to Help > Deactivate...
If you have trouble deactivating your Adobe software, contact Adobe Support & Customer Service [3].
