Your Account & Accessing IT Services

Your NetID and password serve as your primary credentials at UMass Amherst, giving you access to the many services and features available to you, including SPIRE, email, campus networks, and more. 

You can change your password in SPIRE, or get in touch with IT User Services

 


 

Get Connected

Fast and convenient wireless network access is available across campus, including all residence halls. Members of the campus community are strongly encouraged to connect to the university's secure wireless network, eduroam.  
 
UMass Amherst IT also provides tips for improving wireless connections while working and learning from home.

Cyber Safety & Security

Learn more about common scams and phishing schemes - and how to report incidents if you ever encounter them. When receiving suspicious messages or messages from unknown senders, UMass Amherst IT recommends that you: 

  • Verify the identity of anyone who requests your personal information. Never provide financial data or other personal information in response to an email or on a distrusted site or form. 
  • Report these messages to itprotect@umass.edu

Computer Classrooms

Students can access an extensive collection of specialized and industry standard software in Computer Classrooms on campus. All UMass Amherst students are welcome to use Computer Classrooms when classes are not in session.
You can also access all software available on campus computers remotely on your own devices via Azure Virtual Desktop.

 


 

Assistive Technology Resources

The Assistive Technology Center (ATC) offers instruction, training, and support for assistive technology tools to members of the campus community. It also provides a catalog of assistive technology resources and tools, as well as accessibility resources, support from staff, and more.​
