Students interact with campus technology every day — so who better to help shape it?

UMass Amherst Information Technology (UMass IT) is pleased to welcome the Spring 2025 cohort of IT Student Ambassadors, a group of students who will contribute their insights to elevate the campus technology experience. The ambassadors, who represent seven schools and colleges across campus, will play a key role in strengthening IT services through outreach, feedback, and creative problem solving.

Throughout the semester, ambassadors will connect with their peers at campus events and through social media to increase awareness of IT resources that support student success. A major focus this spring will be their participation in Digital Equity and Inclusion Week, a five-day event championing accessible and inclusive technology and educating the campus community about its importance.

Additionally, ambassadors will collaborate with IT staff to provide feedback on essential services such as Canvas and SPIRE. Their insights will help ensure that technology at UMass Amherst continues to evolve in ways that best serve students.

“The ambassador program provides an opportunity for students to shape the technology experience on campus while gaining professional skills,” said Monica Kane, associate vice chancellor for information technology and chief of staff. “Their perspectives are invaluable in helping us understand how technology is used across campus, and their feedback allows us to improve services in ways that directly benefit the student community.”

By fostering a stronger connection between students and UMass IT, the program ensures that technology remains responsive, accessible, and aligned with the needs of the university community.
