Planned Maintenance: SPIRE Unavailable - Fri., 10/6- Tues., 10/10

SPIRE, UMass Amherst’s student information system, will be unavailable from 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, while Information Technology (IT) performs scheduled maintenance to update to a new version of PeopleTools.

As of 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) reports the issues causing wired network unavailability, unreliability, and slowness in some areas of campus have been resolved.

SPIRE Two-Step Login

Campus community members now access SPIRE with a new, more secure login experience, which you can see in the video posted below. 

The new system mirrors the same experience as other campus services such as email and Zoom, creating a simplified, consistent login experience and providing significant protections against the latest information security threats. Two-step login is now enabled for an added layer of security, protecting accounts from fraudulent access. Exceptions do apply. Alumni, parents, applicants, and delegates are not required to use two-step login.
