Secure Online Storage at UMass Amherst Available Now

Effective today, February 8, 2016, UMass Amherst students, faculty, and staff have a new file storage and collaboration service at their disposal. With flexible sharing options, unlimited quota, and improved security features, Secure Online Storage at UMass Amherst provided by Box is an alternative to Google Drive, UDrive, DropBox, and other similar products.

Security Alert! New Phishing Scam Targets UMass Amherst Email Credentials

Members of the UMass Amherst campus community have reported a fraudulent email with the title "New UMass Email System!" claiming to be from "IT Help" This message asks the recipient to log in to an upgraded UMail system through a fraudulent version of the UMass Amherst IT login page. See below for an example of the fraudulent email.

UMail Users: New Web Version Coming with Screen Changes on 1/4/2016

This applies to UMail on the Web users only, not Exchange or Google Apps users.

As with other applications you may use, UMail on the Web upgrades are necessary to enhance functionality and to implement performance and other information security improvements. What's New in UMail on the Web

A UMail on the Web upgrade is expected to take effect January 4, 2016. You can test or use it early if you would like.

SPIRE Unavailable from 5:00 p.m. - Fri, 12/4

SPIRE will be unavailable beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 until approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5 while we perform routine maintenance. If you experience problems with SPIRE after this maintenance window, please clear your browser's cache before contacting the IT Help Center during normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).

Moodle Now Available

November 19, 2015

Moodle is now available following an outage that started Thursday morning, November 19, 2015 at approximately 9:30 a.m. It is resolved as of 10:30 a.m. During the outage, instructors and teacher assistants were not able to access courses in Moodle. If you continue to have problems with Moodle, please contact the IT Help Center.
