On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m., wired connectivity in some parts of campus may be temporarily interrupted while UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) performs network maintenance. Wireless connectivity will not be affected.
While minimal impact is expected, we recommend that members of the campus community working in the buildings listed below:
- Postpone work during the maintenance window and back up critical data.
- Check the IT website for updates on network status.
- Connect with the IT professional and/or building coordinator in their area for specific guidance.
Report connectivity issues outside the maintenance window to the IT Service Desk at it@umass.edu.
Thank you for your patience as we implement new security controls intended to increase the resilience of our IT infrastructure and strengthen protections for the campus technology environment. This maintenance window is part of an ongoing initiative that will expand to other areas of campus in the future.
