Tuesday, April 26 - VPN Login Experience Update

Update Tuesday, April 26, 9:30 a.m.: 

UMass Amherst Information Technology has received reports that some members of the campus community are experiencing difficulties accessing VPN. If you are unable to connect, please sign out and back in to the Global Protect client:

  1. Open GlobalProtect
  2. Click on the three horizontal lines menu button.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Under the general tab, click the Sign Out button.

Starting Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Global Protect virtual private network (VPN) client application will be updated with a new login screen.

After entering your netid@umass.edu and password in the window shown above, you will be asked to finish logging in using two-step login.

  • If you are already using Microsoft two-step login for other UMass Amherst services, you will now use Microsoft two-step login to complete this step for VPN.
  • If you are not using Microsoft two-step login for other services, you will continue to use Duo to access the VPN service this semester.
