Zoom Security and User Experience Updates

This spring, several new default settings are applied in your UMass Amherst Zoom account. These changes protect your Zoom meetings and enhance your Zoom experience.

Security Updates to Be Available for Microsoft 365 Email & Gmail - Weds., 1/12

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, starting at 5 p.m., UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) will introduce new security updates for accessing university email services (Microsoft 365 and Gmail) and decommission legacy authentication methods (how users log in). It may take up to 24 hours for changes to take effect. 

UPDATE: SPIRE Issues Reported - Mon., 1/10

We have taken steps to resolve the SPIRE issues reported earlier today. Service may be restored for some members of the campus community, and we are continuing to monitor. Thank you for your patience.

RESOLVED: Issues with Incoming Calls to Campus Telephones - Thurs., 12/16

7:30 p.m. 

The issues reported earlier have been resolved. 

5:00 p.m.

UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is investigating reports that outside callers may have trouble reaching some campus phone numbers. 

Outgoing calls from campus or calls between two campus phones do not appear to be affected. IT is working with the vendor to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
