Login Experience for Moodle, Zoom, Other Campus Services to Change - Weds., 8/18

The login experience for some UMass Amherst services will soon change to a Microsoft-provided process.

Starting Wednesday, August 18, 2021:

  • Members of the campus community will be prompted for their and password on two successive screens when using Moodle and Blackboard learning management systems, Zoom videoconferencing, HR Direct human resources system, and DocuSign electronic signatures, and other services.
  • The same login experience is already in use for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other services.
  • This date may need to be adjusted depending on testing outcomes.

Changes to the login process for IT and administrative services are part of a larger strategic effort to optimize the user experience and enhance the security of the campus IT infrastructure. Planning for this multi-phase project started in 2020 and will continue in the next academic year.

Benefits of this upgrade include a simplified, consistent login experience across services and significant protections against the latest information security threats. Members of the campus community will have a predictable and recognizable way to log in to widely used campus services.
