Monica Kane named Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief of Staff

University of Massachusetts Amherst Information Technology (UMass IT) is pleased to announce that Monica Kane has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief of Staff by UMass Amherst Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer Christopher Misra.

Kane’s role, a new position, was developed in response to a need identified by Misra to provide vision and leadership to develop a culture of customer service to enhance delivery of services to the campus community.  

New Option for Guests to Access Campus Wireless - Thurs., 12/07

Changes to Adobe Product License Requests

Between May and August 2023, University of Massachusetts Amherst Information Technology (UMass IT) sent multiple email notifications to faculty, staff, and students with access to Adobe products through the University of Massachusetts contract with Adobe. The series of emails notified Adobe users of important actions to take as the result of significant changes made by Adobe to the licensing available to UMass Amherst.

Planned Print Server Upgrades to Affect IT, EDS Clients – Mon., 10/23 & Fri., 10/27, 9:30-11 a.m.

On Monday, October 23, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 a.m., and on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 a.m., University of Massachusetts Information Technology (UMass IT) will be performing planned maintenance to upgrade print servers. Only printing access will be affected during this maintenance window.

Upgrades will happen on Monday for UMass IT, and upgrades will happen on Friday for Enterprise Desktop Services (EDS) Clients.  An email with more information has been sent to clients’ department heads and chairs.
