UPDATE: IT Account Activation Issues for New Students Resolved - Thurs., 11/19

Issues causing new and recently admitted students to receive an error in SPIRE when activating their IT account and setting their initial password have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience. The issue has been identified and IT teams are working to implement a resolution. Until the technical fix fully propagates across systems, new students may experience errors within a limited time window, between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020.

UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is investigating reports of new and recently admitted students receiving an error in SPIRE, the student information system, when activating their IT account and setting their initial password. Updates will be provided as soon as they become available. 

New students: if you receive an error when attempting to activate your IT account in SPIRE, please try again later. Thank you for your patience as we resolve this issue.
