Security Alert! New Phishing Scam Targets UMass Amherst Community - Weds., 10/21

On October 21, 2020 a new fraudulent phishing message began targeting UMass Amherst email users. The email appears to have been sent by “Jacqueline Urla,” and asks the recipient “Hello are you available? Please I need your help urgently.”

Caution: This email is not a legitimate communication from the University of Massachusetts. It is a phishing scam designed to trick you into providing your NetID password to get access to your personal information and/or UMass Amherst information technology services for fraudulent purposes.

RESOLVED: Secure Online Storage (Box): Issues with Accessing Content, Uploads & Downloads - Mon., 10/19

Some members of the campus community may have issues accessing content, uploading, and downloading files using Box, our secure online storage service, on Monday, October 19, 2020. This is a global outage, not related to UMass Amherst. The vendor is working to resolve these issues. Updates are available from the Box status page at status.box.com.

New Login System for Adobe Creative Cloud - Fri., 10/16

Starting Friday, October 16, 2020, members of the campus community will log in to university Adobe Creative Cloud accounts using the same updated interface as they use to log in to Microsoft products like portal.office.com and Office 365 Email.

This change provides an updated interface and ensures continued compatibility with Adobe Creative Cloud’s authentication systems.

Planned Maintenance: SPIRE Unavailable - Sat., 10/17, 8 a.m. - Noon

SPIRE, the university's student records system, will be unavailable from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 17, while UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) performs planned maintenance. If you are experiencing issues with SPIRE outside of the maintenance window, please contact IT User Services at 413-545-TECH (8324) or it@umass.edu.
