SPIRE Two-Step Login

Campus community members now access SPIRE with a new, more secure login experience, which you can see in the video posted below. 

The new system mirrors the same experience as other campus services such as email and Zoom, creating a simplified, consistent login experience and providing significant protections against the latest information security threats. Two-step login is now enabled for an added layer of security, protecting accounts from fraudulent access. Exceptions do apply. Alumni, parents, applicants, and delegates are not required to use two-step login.

Adobe is significantly changing the licensing available to the University of Massachusetts. Our current contract will expire on Thurs., July 6th, 2023. UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is working on a new agreement. Details of how you can access Adobe products in the future will be shared as soon as they are available.

IT to Implement Security Controls on Remote Access Connections from Internet - Tues., April 4

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) will be implementing additional security controls on remote access software used to log into UMass endpoints and servers remotely from the internet to reduce risk to university computers and data.

In the coming weeks and months we will be blocking remote access connections (e.g. Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), Secure Shell (SSH), etc.) inbound from the Internet. Remote access connections outbound will not be affected at this time.
