New Google Workspace & Gmail Login: 3 Things You Should Know

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) upgraded the login page for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite and Apps at UMass Amherst). This single sign-on process is currently used to log in to Microsoft products like and Microsoft 365 Exchange email. As a result, the system may already be familiar to many members of the campus community.

Email Delivery Delays Weds., 12/16

On Wednesday, December 16, email messages sent from UMass Amherst email accounts to non-UMass addresses may be temporarily delayed. 

UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is monitoring email servers and working with email vendors to ensure messages are delivered as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience. Widespread Google Workspace Service Issues Resolved - Monday, December 14

As of 8 a.m. on Monday, December 14, Google has resolved widespread issues affecting access to Google Workspace apps (such as Google Drive and Google Mail). These services may have been unavailable for members of the campus community starting around 7 a.m., but should be restored now.

Security Alert! New Phishing Scam Targets UMass Amherst Community - Monday, 12/14

December 14, 2020

On December 14, 2020, a new fraudulent phishing message with the subject “You have a Faculty E-Learning message notification” began targeting UMass Amherst email users.

The email notifies the recipient “You have a Faculty E-Learning message notification file from your Department” and contains a link to "SIGN IN HERE." The links in the message direct the recipient to a fraudulent version of a UMass Amherst login page.
