Effective Wednesday, July 1, 2020, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) will no longer offer technical support for the email client, Thunderbird.
Members of the campus community can continue to access UMass Amherst email accounts through Thunderbird if they want, but UMass Amherst IT will no longer offer support for configuration issues with the client. Thunderbird support articles can be found at support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird.
UMass Amherst’s email services, Google Mail and Office 365 Exchange, offer robust and feature-complete web-based email clients. These services are also highly compatible with other email client applications such as Apple Mail and Microsoft Outlook, which will continue to be supported. We recommend that you and your colleagues access email through one of these supported client applications when possible.
