The wireless issues reported earlier today were resolved with no impact to the campus community.

UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) is investigating reports of wireless issues in various areas of campus. More information will be posted once it is available. 

Complete Migration to Microsoft Defender - Check University-Owned Computers

The migration to Microsoft Defender has been completed for most university computers. However, some university computers have been identified which still only have Sophos (our legacy security threat detection software) installed. 

To avoid potential data loss and to ensure continued security, university computers must be enrolled in the campus’ central device management and have Defender installed.   

Printer Optimization Initiative Starts Mon., 10/3

This fall, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT), in partnership with Toshiba, will kickstart an assessment of print, fax, and copier equipment, taking an important step toward a more environmentally friendly and cost-efficient campus.

Emergency Maintenance: Campus Phone System - Thurs., 9/22, 5:30 p.m.

September 22, 2022

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the campus phone system will undergo another emergency maintenance in response to issues reported this week. Incoming and outgoing calls to campus phone numbers may be dropped for brief periods of time during the maintenance window. 911 calls placed from campus phones will not be impacted.
