12:00 p.m. Following yesterday's Internet slowness issues in the Northeast, we are receiving reports that some campus IT services may be unavailable. UMass Amherst Information Technology is currently investigating. More updates will be posted once they become available. Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2016: Take the Phishing Challenge!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! In support of this national initiative, UMass Amherst IT is sponsoring a number of activities designed to help the UMass Amherst community stay safe online. This year, we focus on phishing, online scams that ‘phish’ for your personal and financial information (e.g., your passwords, Social Security Number, bank account information, credit card numbers, or other personal information).

Cellular Phone Calls over Wireless - Some Recommendations

Many cellular carriers are starting to permit cellular calls to be carried on wireless (on compatible phones) when their cell signal is weak. While this can be a convenience, there are some things to watch out for:
