Faculty and staff teaching non-credit courses, or coordinating projects such as working groups or community service projects, can request an Ad Hoc course on Moodle at UMass Amherst (moodle.umass.edu).
To access the course, each participant must have a UMass Amherst NetID. If you have participants from outside UMass Amherst, they will not be able to access this site unless they are given an IT account via a NENS courtesy account (see IT Account Eligibility).
For community-based projects or open courses such as MOOCs which require the enrollment of off-campus participants, consider joining the pilot of open.umass.edu (see OPEN UMass FAQ).
Before you submit this form, please read the Moodle Ad Hoc Community Courses - FAQ.
Note: Do not use this form to request a regular for-credit Moodle course (see Request a Moodle Course through SPIRE).
Questions? Email instruct@umass.edu or call 545-2823.
Please note: Your course request will have to be approved, and its creation is a manual process and is not automated. Upon submitting this form, you will receive an email confirming we received your request. Once your request is processed (which can take a few business days), you will receive another email with details on additional steps you need to take. Emails will be sent to the address you give below, so be sure that it is correct.
